first and only FDA approved accommodating intraocular lens, announced today that

revenues for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2007 totaled $10.4 million, an

increase of 144 percent over the prior year’s fourth quarter revenues of $4.3 million.

The crystalens has now been implanted in more than 95,000 eyes worldwide. For the

year ended December 31, 2007 revenues totaled $34.0 million, an increase of 99 percent

over the prior year’s revenues of $17.1 million.

The crystalens was approved by the FDA in November 2003. During clinical trials, all of

the patients who received the crystalens greatly reduced their need for corrective lenses

or eyeglasses. The patented crystalens technology is designed to allow the lens to move

in the eye in a manner similar to the natural human lens. By using the eye’s muscle to

move the lens backwards and forwards naturally, patients can focus through a broad

range of vision including near, intermediate and far distances. All other approved
